It is a router and a modem combined, so you don't have to pay your internet provider a monthly fee to rent one.

Buying one is a lot cheaper than renting one from the cable company, and we've had no issues since we got it.

Shipping

Netgear says they might not warrant the modem because it was shipped from a dealer to you and from you to me.

Was sent and charged for a coaxial cable and no router.

Got this on sail , needed one for a while .
