The nighthawk has two speed settings. The lower band installs with an ssid of netgear85. Ghz speed gives me 10-30mbs depending upon distance from the unit.

Don't ever buy a netgear product. You'll be * into the scam. Here are the questions they ask about their * product.

The set up is overly easy for the stupidest person. Poor coverage for a three story townhome. A 1 year life span seems a bit brief for a semi-pricey device.

Shows connectivity but it is not. Nighthawk boasts about as a selling point will not work with “out of date firmware”. If you are on spectrum’s network avoid this device if you are not.

Before upgrading to this modem our service would go out multiple times a day, every day.

Purchased an arris initially that i had to return after 2 hours of cable tech support and a visit from a technician, would not connect.

Competitiveness

I would recommend this unit (unlike an older model of nettgear combo modem/router)

Could only get up to 250mbps wifi but was told by the xfinity service tech that it is due to losing strength through wifi and sharing.
