Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Netgear access point (ap) works as expected and the web based gui for managing the ap is excellent. Out-of-the-box instructions are good and the product works well. My new phone and laptop are both 6e devices.

Cons

Internet is intermittent on this wap. My requests seem to have been black-holed. Never again, netgear.

The wifi signal is excellent and reaches all the areas my previous mesh system did with just this one ap.

Price

Definitely a niche product if you can wait 18 months especially with wifi 6 prices falling through the floor; given the cost here, 4 stars.

I had gotten quotes for installation of an access point for $600+!

The ap is pricy but it does work.

I am not paid by netgear (unless they want to pay me, lol), but i love this thing.

Shipping

Update:ipc-store contacted me and acknowledged their error in selling a used item as new.

Range could be better for this model

If so while wifi 6 makes some sense as it does intelligent routing over multiple bands its a very hard argument to invest in 6e when wifi 7 should be able to do far better with multilink operation at something like 5 times the theoretical speed and probably in practice close to what a lan can do over a wired connection

If youre setting up a network in your own warehouse this is great if youre in an apartment building with 20 different neighbor networks unless youve got a couple of these and a 6 mhz device youre not really going to see much benefit for the premium price this currently demands

This netgear access point was sold as 34new34 by ipcstore

However it had previously been configured and registered with netgear by a previous owner
