Pros & Cons
Pros
User-friendly interface is much more user-friendly than the ciscos for a small business or enthusiast home user. I use this in my house and with all of the network traffic from streaming to gaming, people on their phones and my hybrid work schedule th... Read More
Gbe is the best. Gbps uplink (i am stuck with 1gbps for the time being). My iphone xr gets over 600mbps on speedtest using gigabit cable. Gbs. Just as fast as either being right next to my router or being hardwired with ethernet!
Signal is strong and i was able to remove the extenders i had in the garage. My home is siding and full of windows. My router is on the opposite end of the house and has to send wireless through 5 walls, a microwave, and refrigerator to get to where i... Read More
Ghz and 5ghz bands are excellent, while the 6ghz frequency is fast but has somewhat less reach (as expected, given its short wavelength) ghz bands are not any faster or slower than 5ghz given the same mimo (2x2, 4x4) most if not all clients are 2x2 or... Read More
Wireless speeds are a massive upgrade over a wireless-n cisco as expected. Works splendidly, no hiccups, steady connection, and even the automatic band detection works better than some cisco products i've used in the past.
Cons
The app you have to use is just substandard and slow to react. The free tier has been eliminated.
Netgear has good tech support, but bad products. The cost to manage a couple of devices that you use with the basic tier of the management platform isn't that high. If you haven't bought one, don’t. It is plain broken and will have to be returned.
The access point is super slow on rebooting. It takes around 10 minutes to start after a reboot as it always appears to download its configuration each time. All of my ip cameras and smart light switches are unable to stay connected. They connect fine... Read More
This ap is miserably slow. With the advancements in technology, many ap on the market have much better throughput.
Highlights
Quality
Speed seems great, setup was easy, and range is plenty adequate for a 2 story house with basement and garage.
After installing this ap, most of the lag in my network subsided, my office has 5ghz, and my download speed increased.
We have very short millisecond power blips everywhere week, not enough to rest your clock but enough to cycle the ap, which sti... Read More

Price
I had gotten quotes for installation of an access point for $600+!
The ap is pricy but it does work.
I am not paid by netgear (unless they want to pay me, lol), but i love this thing.

Update:ipc-store contacted me and acknowledged their error in selling a used item as new.
Competitiveness
6ghz bands are not any faster or slower than 5ghz given the same mimo (2x2, 4x4) most if not all clients are 2x2 or 1x1 so spee... Read More

The downsides compared to a cisco: you can't use a wlc for mesh (it has cloud-based mesh support but that requires a netgear in... Read More

This is an access point not a 34router34 which depending on your networking experience means either a box that broadcasts your home internet or a device that can assign ip addresses and direct traffic or even more than that

Now i did see a setting in the gui to turn on dhcp and i dont want to turn it on and screw up my network but i am 90 sure this device will absolutely not work for home users without a router behind it
