Pros

This is very handy and useful! The coverage is awesome. Upgraded from the original finally. Per cent satisfied.

Performance is stellar! The speed is incredible. Several 4k tv’s streaming 4k content at once without issues.

The orbi rbke962 is a solid router. Upgraded from cable to fiber and needed to replace older orbi cbr 750 unit. Replaced a 6 google nest mesh wifi system with the orbi mesh system (rouiter+2 satellites) in a two-story 4,000 ft^2 brick house.

Cons

The orbi is being returned. Certainly not a review, expected to write, but sadly, having already invested in the product…. This is definitely not a one-time set it and forget it deal.

It is very very glitchy. No more browser access. Update the firmware in the satellite unit was equally as difficult. They literally break your internet service once a year with poor firmware updates.

The orbi can't handle a power cycle gracefully. Netgear charges premium prices for these products. You would expect it to be intuitive and simple to use, but it is not.

My asus tufz590 motherboard is a 2. Wireless is terrible, 150-300mbps up and 808mbps down. And lastly, the amount of data loss between the rbre960 router and gateway is astonishing.

My isp recently upgraded my connection to 2 gigs symmetric and needed to upgrade to a system that could handle the new speeds

After a couple of weeks of use zero network disruptions

Using the vlop i experienced disconnects and very slow speeds daily sometimes speeds went as as low as 15mbs

Price

50 per 1mbs and at full price of the orbi was 1600 2

Also the cost doesnt match what you get in value with the newer devices

Working from home the price is a little steep but well worth it for the ease and reliability

The hardest part of the install is opening up the packaging

Speed testsin a sidebyside comparison i ran a speed test while connected to a vlop node 10 ft away and my speeds were peaking at 96 mbs
