Pros

Signal strength is just phenomenal. There are so many walls, doors, furnitures, stairs between the two that the basement used to be a wifi dead zone. Spotty areas in my basement and some spotty area in some rooms.

Device is aesthetically sleek and minimal. My expectations have been wildly exceeded.

My internet service is 350mbps. Now downloading is uniformly at that level throughout the house. No more internet drop outs,. No more dead zones, no more rebooting.

Easy to set up and configure and with the mesh, wireless connectivity throughout house. Now i need to get the orbi to do some more traditional router stuff, get my security system setup (which involves port forwarding) easy to install. Easy to configu... Read More

Cons

After my purchase i will say that i am very happy with the results.

Overall very easy to set up with the app and it’s good value for the money.

This was not possible with the stock router/modem combo.

Bought these with the thought that i’d return it if it wasn’t good but man is it!

Price

I'm very happy with it considering the price was a bit high.

Price is also high for another satellite if you want to add some.

Packaging/appearance

I carefully preserved all the packaging when i opened it because i expected to send it back.

Competitiveness

We previously used a dir-890l (ac3200) router for a little over 6 years.

Right now we have about 45-50 devices connected, and 75% of them via wifi.

I loved (past tense) my expensive asus ac1200 wifi router but it isn’t the cream of the crop no more.

The 5ghz band can be turned off to help any devices that only function at 2.
