Mesh wifi system is what you need for full coverage throughout your house. No more dead spots. Throw away all your cheesy extenders. Great coverage outdoors, too.
Orbi works with an app available for android or ios. The only downside there is the vpn.
Netgear orbi tri-band whole home mesh wifi system. It's the replacement and current rival to the orbi. This is also a tri-band ac wifi 5 based system. Worth it if you have multiple children and want to enforce a bedtime.

Cons
Buyer orbi is a huge scam! Then they try to charge you to fix it instead of replacing or refunding you. Was advised by netgear support to return to amazon for refund.
Trying to use the 5ghz network as my default for streaming is nigh impossible to control. Web management is a chore as it does not have a configurable logout time. Implicit beamforthing and mu-mimo are inexplicably disabled by default.

Orbi just displays as one network which is more convenient but it meant that half my devices had to be reconnected since i now only had one network id

All of your wifi networks have the same name so if you wander to different portions of your house you dont need to connect to an ext extended network
