As i have a separate blu ray player it's not an issue to me, but may be to others. Has been a boon for streaming media, browsing the internet on the tv.

Great for sharing so others in the room can see what you are doing (like showing pictures, researching something on the web, etc.

Ptv2000 works best with an hdtv, but for my purpose i used an old school set. I have a core i5 cpu, 6gb and a 11n wireless router. Computer detects your tv as secondary monitor when connected successfully.

Cons

Ptv2000 uses a gen 2 widi adapter and it will not work for any gen 4 adapter. It's possible that the problem is with the intel widi software instead of the netgear box.

This product works well to transfer laptop images to big screen tv.

The product works excellent and there is no delay streaming from my laptop to the tv which is approximately 10-15 ft away.

Regardless, i am happy with the product and would go through the troubles again just to have wireless display.

Make sure your computer supports widi technology before buying this product.

This box worked great with my wife's 3rd gen intel core i5 laptop.

Win8 requires a 8 digit wps pin and this product ships with a win7 compatible 4 digit pin.

To update, you need to connect with a win7 machine running the latest intel wireless display sw rev 3.

41 or later to get the fw update and after the adapter has received that update it will connect to win8 machines.
