Pros & Cons
Pros
Netgear wac104-100uks is a dual band wireless access point. It works with both the 2. Ghz and 5ghz bands. It requires a wired connection to the original router or an associated network switch. It can provide 70mb on wi-fi from the hotspot.
The web interface is simple enough to navigate around although it is slow. Almost every setup operation seems to take 5 seconds.
Used on a wired network with a wifi router downstairs, and to mainly extend the wifi signal upstairs. Used as an extended wifi link to give us wifi in summerhouse through a cat 5 cable from bt box in house. It has one uplink port and 4 ports.
The router comes with some nice features. It is modern in styling with straight lines and angled edges.
Signal gets a little weak in the extreme corners of my house when upstairs, but it still streams amazon prime content without ludicrous buffering times. The range is good, part of our house is an extension with the extra thickness of a cavity wall div... Read More
Cons
Netgear needs to rethink this product and reduce the price to a tenner. If i had installed and tested it sooner, i would return it. Buy from another manufacture is my advice.
If you connect it to a router, it insists on using a netgear account login. The setup page immediately demands that you change the admin password. But despite following instructions to the letter it can't be configured.
It ships in router mode, which is * since it's advertised as a wireless access point. Works as a wifi point to an extent although with a weaker range than the old range extender it replaced. Does not support bridge technology for wireless extenders.

5gbps and also offer out a guest network with a 1gbps wan port which might be fine if your broadband connection was slow anyway.
