Pros
The alienware m15 r3 is a thing of beauty, inside and outside. It performs very well and i am very happy with it. It's a functional and * beast.
The fan sound is soft and not unpleasant. The exhaust vents are located on the back, firing outward. An ovular light that looks futuristic as if this thing could take off on its own at high speeds.

The visuals are crisp and clear. The matte screen is plenty bright at 300nits and the colors are vivid and beautiful to see.
This uses a 240w power adapter. How they were able to pack so much power into such a slim profile is what shocked me. The power brick is huge - flatter than most but also much wider. This also takes a large power cord and brick.
Cons
The battery life is horrible for a gaming laptop. The touch pad is not so great and the fans are very loud. The backlit keyboard lights up, but i can’t do anything.
Dell tech support is abysmal. Save yourself some hassle, get an asus or msi instead. Dell support is useless.

So first of all shortly after i bought it the price dropped a couple hundred bucks.
Packaging/appearance
The lighting effects can be customized from the logo on the back of the screen to the keyboard separately.
Glad to see there was not much bloatware preloaded, out of the box.
Competitiveness
Because it is such a high refresh monitor, it sacrificed resolution, as it is only a fhd 1080p display.

Just unplug a replug firmly as needed to fix.
