I have a tool similar to this one for picking up after small dogs but its retainer stays latched until you physically release it…it’s made by a different company

I would also comment on the pop out bottom that is the same for both and my recommendation would be to use a stronger rubber for that because it is way too weak…workable but it collapses way too weak
