But small price to pay for having unlimited frozen desserts and knowing exactly which ingredients goes into them.

This wasn't my first choice of maker as choice consumer magazine rated it at about 75% (don't quote me), it wasn't rated as the best .
For only a few hundred bucks you get a much cheaper version of the paco jet.

When youtube creators tell you you can pretty much throw any old liquid in and it will come out as ice cream dont believe them its simply not true

You really do need to follow some kind of recipe to get proportions right or else youre going to have very grainy or very icy or very freezing ice cream that is not particularly pleasant to eat

If you use whey protein powder to make shakes and you are not using a full cream milk nor adding any sugar you really need to look at adding some kind of gum like tara gum or xanthan gum or guar gum to give you a decent mouth feel

If you want scoop ability not just originally but on subsequent scooping events you really need to add something like allulose sugar replacement

Perhaps they have gone without ice cream for so long that anything approximating ice cream will do but if youve had ice cream any time in the last century it just wont be good enough without the additives

Thats my opinion based on numerous ice cream fails where the ice crystals were so large and so detectable they froze my back teeth and felt gritty and unpleasant

Dont get me wrong the ninja is a game changer but you really do need a proper recipe not a youtube creators thrown together hash but find somebody who actually knows what theyre talking about so you can get some basic recipes that you can then modify to make your own
