I prefer santoku knives, and this reminds one me very much of my oft-used calphalon santoku, but sharper. I am tempted to splurge on the complete ninja knife set with block. It looks like you can't go wrong with the ninjas.

I'm no knife expert by any stretch of the imagination but these do a pretty good job without breaking the bank. These are a pleasure to use and i wouldn't be hesitant to buy more of them in the future. My family loves them.
Cons
This product is an ingenious way to scam you out of your money. Their customer service, however, is terrible.

Quality
Good quality knife, feels heavy but very sturdy in your hand.
The blades are well made and decent thickness and sharpness.
All of the knives are heavy, even the small paring knife.
After 20 years, very little signs of breaking down, and any signs there are, are more related to misuse and abuse, than to lack of quality.
Price
I really enjoy these, especially for the price.
The sharpness is excellent at a competitive price
Valuetrident - you get what you pay for.
They cost a lot, but after 20 years, show no sign of failing.

Packaging/appearance
So naturally, i cut myself just removing it from its packaging!
The packaging itself is very sturdy so it was a bit of a job to get them out of the casing which is an excellent safety feature.

Competitiveness
They cut better than any other knife i've owned.
The chef's knife is also very nice for very similar reasons.
That said, the “neverdull” branding is simply a marketing strategy.
You can get the entire set, plus the ninja foodie sharpening system for less than i paid for the tridents 20 years ago.
