One question- with the amount they charge for the canadian version $599.

Everything we try in this ninja is simply good egal or better than a bbq standard
For a measly $20 more, they threw in a cover, an air fryer pan, and pellets compared to their competition.
Also, you do not have not use the ninja branded smoke pallets, any food safe pallets will work on this machine.

Given that the weber has cast iron grates with actual holes for fats to drip through

This not only avoids drowning meats in their own fat but the fat hitting the elements creates smoke which then flavours the meat

The ninja grill on the other hand looked to me like a deluxe version of the george forman grill

That is a slanted nonstick cast aluminum grate with no perforations for fats to drip through
