Pros

The key is to swap out the tubes that comes with the unit to the ge tubes listed above for around 16 bucks. Nos ge jan 5654w tubes available on amazon and other places. Amazing highs and upper mids, the lower end is a little less crisp.

The smsl m6 is a very detailed sounding pre-amp that most will enjoy listening to. Bought this to replace a 70s crwon power amp.

Still using chinese tubes and sound quality is very good, probably will upgrade later.

I am so amazed with the performance of this preamp.

There is one thing i am dissatisfied with - the power cord is very short, maybe two feet long .

I did not even bother with the original chinese tubes and put ge jan 5654w that i had from my other amps.

I was worried if this would work because the price is so low although because of the price i decided to give it a go.

I received a bad main board and the seller was very good in working with me in replacing the part.
