Pros & Cons

Pros

The noctua 1800 is much quieter than the original mac fan. They are insanely quiet. The 1800 fan is even quieter and faster than the older, slower, and quieterer fan.

I love the no-nonsense philosophy about the redux line of fans.

This fan works perfectly. Worth every penny.

The redux-1200 is shaky at 5v, but still a great fan. High air flow. Added these and a new cpu cooler to move air around the case.

Cons

Had some noisey rack-mount equipment. Exchanged fan and still didn't work. This fan seems lighter than the old fan and apparently lacks the quality. Well, what the heck.

Competitiveness

This noctua is built better than the artic.

No better fans out there in my opinion than noctua for your money.

Price is more expensive than other maker.

I bought this fan and the artic f8 at the same time to compare side by side.

More importantly though it pushes more air and is a lot quieter than the fan apple had originally sent with this mac
