Highlights
Quality
This fan is well built and loud for my vintage computer build.
The material of the fan and fan shroud felt sturdy.
You failed physics, it will make some noise, get a slower fan if noise is an issue.
This fan is readily 1/2 as loud and according to the numbers moves 4x the air.
Price
These fans move air quite nicely, yes they are a little pricey compared to others but they do the job they were created for.
Rather than spending a ridiculous amount of money on a replacement, i decided to give this noctua a try.

An they are expensive for a very good reason.
Packaging/appearance
Inside is tiny board in a huge case.
I've got it plugged in and on the case's lowest fan setting, and it's all but unnoticeable.
But the fans i received were brand new and in the original, sealed packaging, with no evidence of use or wear.
Competitiveness
I have now replaced them with noctua's premium silent fans.
In comparison to other 3-pin noctua fans, this fan had the highest flow, but also the highest noise.
Compared to a lot of other fans at this price point they are loud.
The nf-f12 has a three-pin connector, while the drobo only has a two-pin connector.
