Pros
Build quality and finish is clean and professional, conveying confidence in the product. Receive quality almost rivals some of my big name ham radio gear under many circumstances. It seams to display everything i am wanting.
nesdr is easy to get started with, make sure you can run the software before purchase. I am constantly amazed by what this thing will pick up. Very entertaining and educational.

Cons
No instructions were included in package. The online instructions are obsolete and do not work. The drivers are too buggy. Nooelec is just another garbage purveyor in a long line exploiting naive buyers.

I have used the very inexpensive sdr dongles from ebay on and off but while the do work they tend to drift like crazy and there is no native way to listen to shortwave or many ham radio frequencies

I recently purchased an ma 30 loop antenna to go with my techsun pl330 and zenith trans oceanic receivers so i thought i should finally splurge on a sdr with a frequency converter that would allow me to tune these lower frequencies to see chunks of the spectrum and pick out active signals to avoid endless tuning around

One other thing be sure to pause the waterfall before engaging or disengaging the converter box switch or it will freeze the dongle and youll have to shut the sdr program down unplug and replug the dongle and then restart the sdr program for it to resume receiving signals
