Pros

The filter traps a lot of dust and small particles. The difference increases with age since fewer pleats (plus slightly lower thickness of 3/4 inch vs 1 inch for filtrete) means less area to absorb dust.

The quality is great and the price when you purchase a 5-pack is very affordable. My psyche has a different story. They definitely improve my outlook.

Cons

X 12 filters are smaller than advertised. They appear to be at least 1/4 inch smaller both in width and height than other brands.

They fit in the air returns, but not snugly like previous filters. Which * because when fan kicks on and off the filter smacks up and drops down. Not a snug fit.

These air filters are too restrictive! These filters are exactly 1/4 short. Individual filters have no branding, no merv specification.

I appreciate that the replacements come in a sturdy box that is easy to store.

Competitiveness

Replaced my filtrete brand air filter with this; equivocal or better than the purple filtrete.

I have other merv 12 by another brand pleats are closer .

I will have to see how it compares to my merv 11 before i can actually judge it fairly.
