Pros
Nordic pure merv12 filters work the same as the higher priced special labeled brand. Haven't been able to find a hvac filter in the right size at any of the stores lately.
They're better quality than the cheap menards blue ones, but not a huge waste of money either. They are durable and no complaints.

The difference of this brands actual size results in this filter falling down into my air handler.

I have a new thermostat control that monitors air quality and these have been great.
The pollen level inside the house is decreased (air quality increased).
Competitiveness
All and all using the nordic pure 16 x 20 as a prefilter has made it more conformable in the house.
These have a higher merv rating than the more expensive filters i used previously and are made in the usa.
Running cheap 16x20 filters alone i'd have to swap them every couple of weeks.

Running the aprilair 213 alone id change based in the thermostats air calcs often id have to change when it said the filter had 10 remaining because the filter was clogged up enough that it was mostly being bypassed and wasnt doing much filtering any more

I just try and avoid changing both at the same time as long as they are out of synch one is picking up the slack
