Pros & Cons
Pros
Merv 7 filters do a great job of keeping dust and fur out of our furnace and let enough airflow through to keep it from overheating. Nordic pure has 18 horizontal pleats(ribs) while the aerostar has only 14,that equals to about 20% more filtering area... Read More
No issues with restrictions whatsoever during the last month of usage. I change the filters monthly since it usually runs year round. Purchase several to have on hand to change out every 3-4 months.
Cons
The cardboard frame is so flimsy and insubstantial that it folded when i pushed it into the slot. This is unacceptable! Buy a different product. Now i have to find another manufacturer who doesn't mess with their product continually by cheapening it.
For basic dust (large particle) filtering this would probably be fine. Filters are not individually rapped. Attempts to get them to fit ended up with me ruining a 3 pack of filters.
There are no markings anywhere to indicate they are merv 10 filters. The picture in the product page in amazon where every filter shows merv 14 is not there.
Highlights
Quality
Good quality filter at a good price.
Excellent product more efficient & a sturdy product
I also made a comparison with the aerostar merv 8 and i discovered that dimensionally they are identical.
Even with the lower merv rating i feel like we have less dust because with the greater airflow i am getting more air being pull... Read More
Price
Very good quality, perfect fit into my carrier hvac and the price is excellent.
This is the best furnace filter i have ever used and the amazon price is surprisingly low.
Shipping
Shipping speed and service was excellent as well.
Competitiveness
Best air filters on the market and the value for money is excellent compared to the competition.
The cost of these filters runs about $11 each, which is far cheaper than the higher merv filtrete air filters.
These seem comparable to the 3m product we had been using,
I have a low merv rating on my furnace.

So i got the merv 8they are reminiscent of the merv 7 as far the sturdiness and quality of materialagain no designation on the filter itself

So i think i might forgive the lack of identification

Other filters we used would restrict airflow to the point the furnace would overheat and short cycle
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
This became clear each time our unit turned on the merv 11 filter would make a popping noise due to the reduced airflow and increased suction moving through the air return
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
As a result the furnace had to work much harder to get the air it needed to operate

When i remove the filter it was actually bent from the added suction

If made in us company should proudly advertise that fact by printing on the filter and box
