Pros

This cake mold is as realistic as 3d molds allow. The pan itself is heavy-duty. It bakes evenly and doesn't wobble. If you enjoy baking this is the quality you desire from nordic ware.

Grease the pan liberally with crisco or equivalent vegetable shortening. Flour liberally but be careful not to fill mold crevices. Put a baking sheet under it incase it spills over.

Cons

It's cute, but the baking results are bad. Since the body is so thick and the head and base are not, they bake quickly and the body does not. Could not get any response from the seller after several attempts.

I bought 2 because they were so inexpensive before the season and the price may rise.

My family members were already asking to borrow it before i took it out of the box!

I think the boxed cake's lighter texture is what worked.

Competitiveness

That's because i want lighter shades of brown for the feathers plus i think white frosting will better accompany the cake's pumpkin flavor.
