Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Mix with six ounces of juice with 10 grams of psyllium, and * the whole thing in one go. A spare glass canning jar works fine for this. It is simple with no fillers.

The psyllium husk can be made into a powder by running through a spice or coffee bean grinder. It's coarse so it doesn't gel quite as quickly as the fine powder and that makes it easier to mix and drink.

A super fiber cookie mix that works great. It serves the purpose of getting more fiber in your diet with few calories. Needed to see if adding fiber to some cookies would help regularity.

Cons

Tastes more like corn starch. It blends worse compared to the powder version. It tastes much worse than we’re used to and won’t mix at all.

The link to choking makes me wonder whether some people who appeared to choke while eating psyllium husks actually experienced allergic reactions. The lack of a clear mention of the risk of psyllium allergy (which is documented in the literature) is a...  Read More

Used to got a cvs product with good quality but unfortunately it was discontinued.

I have been trying to find a good quality unflavored pure psyllium husk powder and this is it!

Price

This one has a good price and it is easy to mix into water, or any drink / soup whatever.

And affordable: at a cost of $9.

Decided to give this a try as the other one continues to ridiculously increase in price.

Competitiveness

I mix this to make my own homemade orange flavored fiber drink mix that is surprisingly similar to metamucil but less expensive.

I mistakenly bought the regular psyllium, and this 'whole' seed is much better.

This husk is no different than husks i've purchased for decades.
