Pros

It fit fine, and works great. Plugged right in. Not bad. The light is very satisfactory. It's well made and the installation was simple.

Buying entire fan was cheaper than just buying the motor assembly. Pulling out the old housing and trying to replace it would have damaged the ceiling.

Cons

Nutone model 8664rp is an inferior product. The spring clips that hold the lamp/fan cover are of very poor design. I have other nutone products, and this is a looser.

Fan is not quiet. It sounds like there's a jet taking off from our bathroom. Just replaced it today with a panasonic whisper fan.

Buying entire fan was cheaper than just buying the motor assembly.

I also saved a lot of money buying a used fan from amazon warehouse with "like new" condition rating.

I suspect someone had ordered it, maybe opened the box, changed their mind, and returned it to amazon.

My older one which btw is the same brand and model has a plastic clip and it has 2 sockets.
