Pros & Cons
Pros
This wok heats up in a hurry which is needed for most stir-fry dishes. It is powerful enough to do good enough, non mushy stir fry.
It's so much better than a straight edge spatula or a wooden spatula. Just have to use a spatula to move the food around. Follow the directions regarding seasoning this carbon steel wok. A good rinse, a hand dry, a spray of 100% avocado oil and then a... Read More
Quality components. A joy to handle and use. This thing here is awesome! Induction is the way to go!
If you adjust the temp up or down it automatically cools or heats. It gets hot quickly, stays hot, has easy temp adjustments, safety features out the gazoo.
My old reliable does pretty well on the induction base, but the bowl flare differs from the included wok. I respecfully suggest that nuwave put three nibs on the outside of the wok to stabilize it horizontally.
Cons
Works no better than a frying pan on the stove. Bottom is too hot that’s why my food was burned and sides weren’t hot. Also it's not nonstick. Only good thing is wok itself but a burner is useless.
It reheats very quickly when empty. This retains heat very poorly. The induction portion covers so little of the wok, even less than the base, and the surrounding area does not get hot.
The wok itself is flimsy and cheap quality. It is so thin it flexes very easily. I have 2 other woks that have substantially thicker material at the bottom of the wok.
Highlights
Quality
The pan has a substantial weight and the nonstick surface is holding up well.
I am really loving cooking with this, the only reason i rated it at 4 stars, is the odd chemical odor that comes off of the handle grip.
I can finally get rid of flat-bottom woks and stir fry evenly
The induction works for the wok but the handle has a strong chemical odor that is toxic.
Price
I thought at first that the price was a little high, but it is more than fair for the quality and uses!
I love the fact it uses a normal pan instead of specialty cookware like the old days when induction was new, and the cookware w... Read More
Packaging/appearance
This unit arrived well-packed, and both the cooktop and the pan show great quality and are excellently made.
Competitiveness
This can reach 575 f which is great because you really need the higher heat for lots of different asian dishes.
