Laura james writes movingly about her experiences and she writes well. She writes of always feeling like the odd person out. I felt like i was right in the trenches with her, as she struggled to make sense of her life. Thank you laura.

Loved her voice, and she really helped me understand the interior world of someone on the spectrum.
My partner of 22 years is autistic and this book offered hope, love and real life stories that are so similar to mine it made me cry.
With one or two minor differences, it mirrors my own life, that feeling of not belonging anywhere and desperately wishing i could.
Her diagnosis is a revelation— good and bad — but she shares her decisiins and efforts to make life better.

I didnt relate to everything james wrote but i find its incredibly important for older self suspectingnonneurotypical women to read about our peers because we rarely fit the standard expectations for asd
