While slightly inconvenient my bigger concern is accidentally losing the remote or forgetting where you put it because you had to remove it from the holder to charge the fan or your device

That said its not exactly a minimal setup so not particularly for a conscientious backpacker only carrying one or two rucksacks but more for an economy class camper that has some room to spare in his vehicle for extras
