Tip the stem on ours wasn't permanently attached, so put a dab of clear silicone caulk in the hole and reattach the stem. She likes the stainless steel look and it’s held up. I just wish the ring sound was louder.
Cons
The ring is often inaudible or so low it isn't noticeable. The instructions say turn it clockwise - then anti-clockwise to activate ringing - which doesn't make any sense. No ringing at all.
Not worth purchasing this item. Looks great, so it makes a nice ornament, but that's not what i bought it for. When the timer reaches zero it doesn’t ring at all.

You have to remember to wind it all the way to 60 minutes then back it off to the time you want otherwise the ringer only goes off for a couple of seconds

It does not require a full 360 degree revolution or does not need to be spun around to 60 minutes to function properly despite what other reviewers claimed perhaps theirs malfunctioned it is a dubious possibility
