Loved this reel. Was able to put 300 yrds of 25 # mono line onto it. The 8000 reel isnt lightweight, but no reel this big and well made would be.
Okuma is a world class brand and this unit is snazzy for the price. Action is very smooth and solidly built. Its a champ for the money.
The reel is easy to adjust and the baitrunner has a separate drag. The baitfeeder feels very nice as well. Perfect for live bait on a stop for tuna.

I have not actually used mine yet but the build quality is excellent and it just feels nice and sturdy.

When i received the reel the part of the main body of the reel that attaches to the reel seat of the rod was broken during shipping

The bait feeder function tends to jam up sometimes not sure why it happened to me twice and didn’t notice it till i started trying to make adjustments to the rear drag and tension of the line

I was a bit put off buying this reel due to it having a graphite body i have previously owned an older model coronado which flexed under any load so much it was junk
