Pros & Cons
Pros
Although i haven’t fished it yet, the look, feel and construction is very similar to the fenwick down to the insert on the guides. Paired the okuma ceymar c10 reel with okuma's 5. Celilo ultralight rod and both are incredible values. Very sensitive wi... Read More
Very versatile. Appears well made. My only concern is the cork handle. Mine was packaged pretty sloppily but it wasn't damaged thankfully.
Highlights
Quality
Fantastic ultralight trout rod for local lakes and reservoirs using 2-4lb line
Light weight, grip feels very good in the hands.
The rod is extremely whippy, after all these are moderate action ultralight trout rods.
Never would have thought this rod would hold up to that kind of abuse.
Price
Fun, inexpensive rig that does the job.
This rod provides great value for the money.
I'd pay 80 bucks for it and feel i got my money's worth.
If it's outside of warranty, a new rod end is $15.
Shipping
First off, amazon is absolutely terrible at shipping fishing rods and this is why one star was deducted.
Contact with customer service got me a return label, and a few days later a new one arrived.
I contacted customer service and they took care of replacement.
Packaging/appearance
Love this rod, very good durability very light and the packaging was clean and the rod came in perfect condition.
Packs conveniently as a 2 piece (weekly 800' vertical climb/descent)small fish light this thing up, the big one's just say: respect!
I ordered two of these, both of which were damaged, one from the manufacturer, the other due to amazon's poor packaging of fishing poles.
The first time i ordered one it arrived essentially crushed, loose in a big box.
Competitiveness
For comparison i have always favored my $200 phoenix 6' ultralight rod paired with my shimano spirex 500 for my stream fishing adventures.
For a few $ more, it’s definitely better than the shakespeare micro which i also own and fished.
Have it paired with kastking centron 2000.
That said, as i've gotten older and wiser, i have started looking for a less expensive setup that can give me comparable perfor... Read More
