Pros & Cons
Pros
The rod is incredibly sensitive yet still has plenty of backbone to handle bass or catfish of decent size. It seems to be pretty strong and i've managed to pull a couple of lures out of snags that i would've sworn would've broken the line. Can handle ... Read More
The okuma ceymar c-10 is an excellent ultralight package that won't break the bank. The rod is a bit stiffer in action than the typical ultra light. The pole is very lightweight and easy to use.
Croix rod. Great rod, terrible packing. This rod is a keeper. There was packing paper to prevent it from bouncing around.
Cons
The rod snapped when the reel handle was turned. Braided line slices right through it, causing the line to fray and shear. On top of that it says non refundable 2 days after i received it.
I typically like okuma rods, this one is junk. Used this rod maybe 5 times. Not sure i want to wipe the slate clean and take any more chances.
Highlights
Quality
Fantastic ultralight trout rod for local lakes and reservoirs using 2-4lb line
Light weight, grip feels very good in the hands.
The rod is extremely whippy, after all these are moderate action ultralight trout rods.
Never would have thought this rod would hold up to that kind of abuse.
Price
Fun, inexpensive rig that does the job.
This rod provides great value for the money.
I'd pay 80 bucks for it and feel i got my money's worth.
If it's outside of warranty, a new rod end is $15.
Shipping
First off, amazon is absolutely terrible at shipping fishing rods and this is why one star was deducted.
I contacted customer service and they took care of replacement.
Packaging/appearance
Love this rod, very good durability very light and the packaging was clean and the rod came in perfect condition.
Packs conveniently as a 2 piece (weekly 800' vertical climb/descent)small fish light this thing up, the big one's just say: respect!
I ordered two of these, both of which were damaged, one from the manufacturer, the other due to amazon's poor packaging of fishing poles.
The first time i ordered one it arrived essentially crushed, loose in a big box.
Competitiveness
For comparison i have always favored my $200 phoenix 6' ultralight rod paired with my shimano spirex 500 for my stream fishing adventures.
Have it paired with kastking centron 2000.
That said, as i've gotten older and wiser, i have started looking for a less expensive setup that can give me comparable perfor... Read More
