I’ve ventured in those reels and the quality.
One that i am very pleased with.
The quality of this reel is good but it’s not sealed and doesn’t have the drag needed for big game.
The 'big river' is over flowing with such product.
Price
This reel definitely sits in the upper mid-range level of reels in terms of quality and the price is amazing.
But for the price they're hard to beat.
For the price, okuma reels are hard to beat.
Okuma is a contract manufacturer for many other brands.
Shipping
Called okuma and they sent me a new frame for free including shipping.
Packaging/appearance
They claim that i caused the problem by peeling off line improperly.
Competitiveness
I have a 9ft 4 pc redington medium action and some sa 5 5 weight line i fish with.
I bought the # 7/8 which holds 100 yards of 20lb braid backing and a # 8 wf line.
I'd rather have a cabellas prestige plus fly reel, if im honest.
I was able to easily fit 100 yards of 30lb dacron backing and 80ft of fly line on the reel.

If you drop the spolr or frame of this okuma cast reel onto a hard surface it will likely bend

One quirk about the reel is that the retrieve is so smooth that it tends to reel in loose line on the stop at the end of a forward cast which will get annoying when youre trying to cast streamers

So be careful not to drop it or you can bend the spool and not make the drag not so smooth
