I heard things are changing and they're improving. I don't put a ton of confidence in the plastic case but for everyday stationary use in my home office, it's fine.

This is the only seagate model i had fail on me, or give me data redundancy errors while trying to copy files to another drive. Would not buy seagate brand again.

The customer service is non existent. It's now out of warranty. You can't use this with firewire cables. Oh nay nay.

Never that quick a drive, and bricked on me with minimal use. Lasted just over 3 years of very light use. The rest of the time it was stored away in a fireproof/waterproof safe. This hard drive is a complete piece of horse manure.

Seagate is by far the worst performer. Unpredictability of when it dies is the most troubling. Quarter of everyone who ever used this drive hate it (or came near close to hating it!
