Cons

Seagate has a meager one year warranty. No longevity. Meager warranty shows they do not have much faith in the life of their drive.

Seagate wants $600+ to recover the data. It was very lightly used as a usb backup device only. Do not rely just on one drive backup.

The drive disconnects itself for no apparent reason. It has been plugged & unplugged maybe 10 times in that period. The failure is mechanical -- the drive is clicking, as if the disc cannot turn.
