Anything beyond 10 to 12x magnification really needs monopod or tripod to steady the view.

Really impressed with these considering their price.
If you are looking for a pair of good value premium binoculars at a budget price i highly recommend considering these.

I took a chance on buying these binoculars as wanted a better pair than i already own in a different brand.
As with the other model i own: the tripod attachment screw thread is located behind the olympus branded cap.

After having cheap binoculars over the years and wanting to improve the experience of watching the local wildlife i decided to buy the 8x40 versions of these binoculars after reading various positive reviews

I already have a pair of decent 10x21 compact travel binos but wanted good optics and light gathering capability for a resonable price

They apparently arent waterproof so probably not optimum for allweather winter birding during cold weather if used outside then brought inside may be prone to condensation if not handled correctly to avoid this

The eyepiece lenses are approx 1819mm in diameter and i have actually used the binos as an impromptu telephoto lens for my mobile phone
