Before i bought this unit i read all the reviews too hope i can make things clearer first im 43 years old and have 2020 vision and no arthritis

I have read about the battery door breaking this is because of the user not the product and i nearly broke the battery door also the door opens with the assist of the springs for the battery so with no batteries in it the door does not pop off and you think it is not working right and then you will try to force it dont

The instructions are horrible in this area you will see a lever with an arrow on the door pointing left push it left until it stops then with a butter knife or with someones help gently while pushing the lever left pull or pry the door up towards you you need to do this because the unit does not have batteries in it yet to push the door out as it is a double bolt type action on both ends once you have batteries in this thing the battery compartment and door work greatyou will understand once you change batteriesanother thing that is not clear in the instructions is when you are taking it apart to rinse under water just the clear parts that come off not the whole unit the head of the unit where the whole reservoir sits on top of the main battery unit well the the head has a white tabs on either side that need to be squeezed for the top of the unit to come off once you figure that out it becomes a pretty natural action squeeze both sides with index finger and thumb while pulling gently up remember this unit is ultra portable so yes it is a little more delicate but not fragile i have owned this unit for 8 months or so now and i use it 6 times a week sometimes the battery life is very good i use energizers and it is easy to clean

I paid 180 for this unit and got back a 20 rebate from the omron website it took a while but they did send it
