I finally gave up and installed a cfl bulb but the it didnt turn on at all this time

I then thought to myself if something in the adapter isnt making good contact that has to be the culprit

I found that the metal flap inside the socket was not making good contact with the center part of the led light bulb and wasnt making contact at all with the cfl

So i bent up the metal flap inside the socket to make better contact and the flickering stopped
