Ooma telo is a voip phone that uses your internet connection to make calls. Ooma uses nomorobo to detect spam callers.
Ooma makes this brain simple. The tech support walks you through, even with choosing a number. Purchased ooma to replace another provider of home phone service.
Cons
The only way to cancel ooma, is to call them. It's hard to setup initially (requiring multiple apps and logins) they claim you can get a free service but the taxes are $6 per month. The lie is that i signed up initially for the basic service, not the ... Read More
It averages three times a week that the unit is offline. They have only one solution for all unplug everything, reboot the modem first, then the router. Do yourself a favor and find another solution to your voip needs.
Audio quality is worse than my previous service but you can hear, it just sounds a little buzzy. Amazingly awful customer service - be warned.

They give a huge list of phone numbers that you can pick from

Id been held hostage by one of the large telephone companies in my area and the service just got worse and worse
