Quality

In short, i'm extremely happy with this product.

So far it works like a charm and i am happy.

Sound quality is every bit as good or better than the landline that the ooma replaced.

(took that long for it to start working once account was created and it was hooked up) sound quality is clear.

Price

For bare bones low cost, i'd go for obitalk.

Competitiveness

I have used this unit with u-verse dsl and charter cable and have had no problems.

I bought a referb unit from woot in 2011 and i couldn't be happier.

Purchased one new through amazon, then a refurbished unit through woot (which is owned by amazon and sells lots of refurb stock).

We rented a vacation house for two weeks and just plugged the ooma into the router where we were staying and calls to our home number rang into the box just as though it were home we also had to take a regular phone to plug into the ooma

I also have a couple of obitalk voip boxes which offer a cheaper solution the box is about half the cost of ooma and theres no monthly charge but the obitalk requires getting a separate number like a google voice number and doesnt have the same features
