There is also suspense and mystery as for the most part our knowledge is limited to what the hero experiences and there are layers to what is going on so that this series does not fall into a trite formula where you already know in advance what will happen

In this series the characters arent trapped within the game and actions in the game do have real word affects up to and including control of the planets resources

Im not sure if it is a litrpg thing or maybe a russian thing but it is an overused expression in these types of books

Litrpg isnt actually a russian originated genre as many seen to think as i believe that joel rosenbergs guardian of the flame series was quite a few years earlier despite it being more related to irl jumping into old style d20 dd as opposed to the russian books that went with mmorpg
