Pros & Cons

Pros

The best thing is the power and suction. It cleans very well and doesn't clog. The bristle on the dusting and floor attachment allow for more fine dust pick up.

Cons

My major complaint is the design. Does anyone at orek actually try their own products? But who cares? Purchased this based solely on brand.

It is clumsy, doesn't set well on the carpet, just tips over. Strap is total junk. I am only 5'5 and it was awful. Had to bend over.

Oreck seems to be the only vacuum company still resisting the move to bagless models as standard. This vacuum retails at oreck for $150!

The hose recoils so tightly that it facilitates the disconnection of the hose from the wand. Every little movement with the the near rigid hose results in the flimsy carry strap flinging the sharp edged/awkward/heavy sweeper smashing into my ribs.

Vacuum tubing is extra short which is like trying to vacuum with a marlin attached. The wand is too short to use comfortably while vacuuming a whole house. Why doesn't oreck use the same power cord on the handheld vacuums as is used on the uprights?

Had one for 15 years and got another only because hose cracked

The hose is flexible but it does take some juggling to keep it extended the springiness is pretty tight as one hand needs to hold the unit and the other is on the wand… if you need to lift a cushion it can get interesting

Also one of the clasps on the strap broke the 2nd time i used it… i’m not sure how to request a replacement but in the meantime will be getting creative

She had our original one for about 12 years before it but the dust

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The first one lasted about 10 years

Eventually the power cord developed a short and the carrying sling broke

Unfortunately you cant buy a separate replacement power cord

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Odd because the connection is simple just slide a single prong from one end of the cord into the vacuum cleaner body sort of like a cellphone charging cord
