Pros & Cons
Pros
Buy one of these + a stihl chainsaw blade sharpener. Great for sharpening the blade on my chainsaw. Keeps saw in place when sharpening chain.
This stump vise is the perfect tool to hold the bar still. Use a large screwdriver between the spikes to lift the vise out of the wood. Just fyi-it helps to have a small tool box in which you'll keep your bar stand, sharpening kit and files.
Highlights
Quality
Amazing product and a must have if you want a 5 minute sharpen deep in the woods.
Sturdy, made of good materials and is easy to setup out in the field.
Pic shows missing thumb screw, was broken when hammering into stump.
You’ll lose it in the woods unless you tie it to your saw, and that’s weird.
Price
This is one time you really do get what you pay for.
Competitiveness
Obviously stihl/husky products are gonna be a little better but oregon always makes quality stuff for a fraction of the price.

The screwy thing is not brass like the picture makes it look so you need to grindsand it so it damages the bar less when youve secured it

Also need to be careful about setup on stump to ensure saw sits at correct height to allow the chain to move and the screw doesnt damage the bar when tightening down

There is nothing worse than finding yourself with a dull sawblade in the middle of the woods with no way to sharpen it

When in the woodlands you never know when you may need a vise

The end of the bolt isn’t really square so it doesn’t apply even pressure
