This device only supports pcm audio output, and my tv is not pcm based. Many cannot be adjusted back to pcm from more modern audio like dolby digital. Clearly a case of misrepresented advertising, 'plug and play' it is not.

It is maybe generate by the squeezebox itself because as soon as you detach the fiber optic the noise stopped
