Pros & Cons
Pros
These are my favorite esp8266 breakout boards. Perfect for slime trackers. Last batch performed flawlessly with micropython 1.
Bme680 gas sensors in bathrooms. Wled controllers but also motion sensed lights. Water sensors for plants. Infrared temp and humidity sensors.
Cons
Failed to connect to timed out waiting for packet headeresptool. Even tried compiling new drivers, downgrading my ar arduino ide - nothing worked. I ave some usb-c versions that are the same problem.
These are supposed to be clones of the nodemcu d1 mini. They fail to boot or respond to loaders. Coincidence probably but. Since most of my projects are battery powered, these are useless.

Highlights
Quality
Having an onboard usb plug saves the need to rig up a power supply, so i only had to solder on wires at three pins (5v, ground, and data4).
The boards i got all worked well and are up to my expectations.
0 do not have diodes on the usb power, so plugging them in to usb and 5v is a recipe for trouble.
I was apprehensive of the quality after reading reviews.
Price
The level converters are super cheap, so don't let that stop you.
Shipping
I finally got these to work after receiving the dreaded "timed out waiting for packet header" message.
