It is the simplest solution to get things done without breaking a bank. The enclosure is compact and light, which is practical for easy transport. Easy to install and use right away.
The orico 2 has a sleek and stylish design. Slim profile and glossy finish make it look like a luxurious piece of tech. I like that it's a bit more colourful, but the use of plastic for the enclosure does give it a much cheaper feel.
Cons
Usb device fails to enumerate. Figured no big deal it's only getting plugged int a tv and sitting on a shelf. I upload a short clip with the drive once sorted properly and it stop working.
Cheap plastic case. Doesn't stay securely closed pops apart. Even with ssd the only way to use is with the cover off. I have an external drive mount (toaster) that has no such issues.
Highlights
Quality
- the quality is the top notch.
Feels cheap with the plastic housing but works well.
With the drive in, it doesn't move.
I got the white case with the usb-c connection.
Packaging/appearance
I decided to try this one out and it worked right out of the box!
Competitiveness
Put a 256gb ssd into this to make a good external drive and works surprising fast.
Got it for a 500gb ssd crucial and was easy to setup.
I had originally tried the more popular sabrent enclosure, which kept giving me an error on my mac mini m2 pro.
It's like the chameleon of the storage world!

Because of the small size of the housing and lack of vents this would be best used for backups and portability rather than being hit continuously as an everyday working drive where heat can be an issue

Theres a piece of foam inside thats supposed to be stuck to the interior to reduce any vibrations that may occur but the glue had long dried out and it was just bouncing around inside
