Part of the trick is removing the thin plastic frame and putting your phone into the bottom layer first and then putting the frame on top

You then have to lift the rubber around the edges and push the plastic frame into place working your way around the phone

Both times i did this on mine and then my husbands phone it was slow going and frustrating
