Pros

The amount of light is great for seeing the handwork. The daylight illumination shows colors very accurately, details with amazing clarity and it helps reduce glare and eyestrain.

The price is low compared to others and what it accomplishes. The magnifier is a sheet of plastic with some magnifying properties but is not as powerful as one might need or like.

Clip-on base stabilizes the light but is not so big as to be intrusive, clumsy, or in the way.

Ottlite is perfect for entering information into the computer from bank statements and tax organizers. I sell vintage and costume jewelry online and it really helps me read the stamps instead of the jewelry pieces.

I love that the light is small and rotated, it has a magnifier and is sturdy!

Ottlite are the best lamps for sewing/crafting or wherever you need a bright concentration of light!

The light has no/on off switch i could find, so unplugging it is the only option.

After installing the new tube the lamp did not light.

Reasonably priced and pretty easy to use.

This light is worth the money and such a help for handwork or beading!

If i had had the time & option to wait for a local sale or discount coupon i would have waited to buy.

It was battery operated, twice the price and a disappointment!

Competitiveness

I've had a very similar lamp from ottlite for the past 10 years and love it.

I have several other ottlites which i do like very much, but this particular lamp is not one of ottlite's best designs.

The price is low compared to others and what it accomplishes.
