Pros

Floor lamp is perfect! I love the way it adjusts to put light right where i need it. Nice and bright. Has 2 brightness settings and easy to move.

A helper makes it easy as pie! Lamp is well weighted and easy to possision. Read the directions carefully to get the bolts and washers in the right order. Easy to assemble one screw and done.

This one offers more light (2 bulbs as opposed to one in my old lamp) and, i am happy to report, no buzzing at all so far. It is very sturdy unlike the dimmable lamp which doesn't seem to take replacement bulbs.

Cons

The bulb socket, which is made of cheap plastic, was broken. The on/off switch is flimsy. One of the fluorescent sockets is faulty so that it provides almost no illumination to one of the two supplied bulbs.

And sturdy when you adjust the flex neck.

I find the on/off swirches cumbersome for elderly fingers; under the lamp and hard to press.

There is a high pitch whine whenever the light is on.

Price

Ott lights are the best and most bang for your buck!

A bit pricier than most floor lamps but it was well worth it.

I would buy more if they weren’t so expensive.

Shipping

They shipped a new bulb the next day and included an extra bulb for the inconvenience.

Fast delivery and i assembled it all by myself.

Delivery was much faster than stated at time of order.

I was honestly a little disappointed when opening the shipping package and was immediately considering returning it.

Packaging/appearance

I attached a picture of the packing materials to show how well it was packaged.

I hope the manufacture could come up with an updated version with a much smaller packaging better suited for a modern contemporary home.

Competitiveness

I bought this for my grandma because she has macular degeneration and this is the best and most often recommended brand!
