    However if you try to place the flanges in the same position as the milwaukee diagram youll discover the collet on the dw400 is not long enough

    So you have to reverse the order of flanges from the diagram

    Note the original flange nut that comes with the dw400 goes on last and you will notice it does not quite screw all the way onto the end of the collet
