The silicone helps protect the hands and fingers, and the two potholders do not take up much room. Help to grip the pans well. That's a bit iffy for broiling, but i have used numerous times on pans under the broiler and they have done well.

These multipurpose hot pads and oven mitts set are an excellent set. No heat transfer through holes--well insulated for heat and cold. Have used in deep freezer. Pads are great for gripping and hot things.

Cons

Maybe it’s the rubbery surface but they aren’t like an oversized glove but more like a flipper. The mitt is too large for my hand.

I was greatly surprised by the long silicone gloves.
